Week 7 | Day 1 – HELP, HELD, AND MADE LIKE JESUS – Romans 8:26-30
When we don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit steps in—interceding with wordless groans that perfectly align with the will of God to guide us and to conform us to His Word and will. At the very same time, God is weaving every circumstance—sweet or bitter—into His good purposes for those who love Him. So that in every event and detail in and around our lives, He is at work whether we know it or not for His glory and our good. In fact, from the beginning, God foreknew those who would respond to His grace, and He set a plan in motion to conform us to the image of His Son and to grow us into His people living for His purposes. And those He knew would accept Him, he predestined to be justified, sanctified, and glorified in their salvation. As a result, our state in salvation is secure, while in our standing, through the Spirit, it is being worked out daily to help us to become more and more like Jesus every day and in every way.
APPLICATION
1 - Pray Your Weakness
When words fail, don’t force them—offer your weakness to God and ask, “Holy Spirit, pray through me.” And then trust His perfect intercession on your behalf.
2 - Reframe Life’s Hardships
Because God works in all things for good, look for His shaping hand even when you can’t yet see or understand the outcome. Ask: How might this help me to draw closer to Jesus?
3 - Cooperate with the Process
You were predestined to be conformed to Christ. Lean in to Him through Scripture, prayer, community, and obedience—to allow the Holy Spirit to shape you for His glory and your good.
4 - Rest in Your State—Walk in Your Standing
You are justified and secure in Christ by your faith response to His grace; now, by the Spirit, live like it—repent quickly, obey promptly, and depend continually.
5 - Remember the Holy Spirit’s Relentless Ministry
Never forget no matter how crazy and confusing life may get that Holy Spirit in you is constantly convincing, convicting, cajoling, and converting—scanning your heart, filtering your mind to align your will and life with God’s. Yield to His nudges today.
PRAYER
Jesus, thank You for saving and securing me. Thank You that from the beginning You knew I would respond to the Holy Spirit’s convicting work, and by Your grace You brought me from death to life. Holy Spirit, when I don’t know what to pray, pray through me and align my heart with the Father’s will. Father, in every circumstance—good or hard—work Your purposes for Your glory and my good. Conform me to the image of Your Son as I trust, obey, and depend on You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
